The Fifth Annual Conference of Chinese Society of Renal Physiology (CSRP) & The International Summit on the New Theory and Clinic for Hypoxia-inducible Factor (HIF) was successfully held in Shanghai, China on Dec 7-9, 2018. Three hundred and sixty attendees from all over the country gathered to share and exchange the latest advances in the field of renal physiology research from bench to bedside.

The conference not only paid close attention to the frontier problem and hot issues, such as “Mechanism and clinical implication of hypoxia adaptation”, “Pathogenesis and treatment of diabetic nephropathy”, but also was concerned with the the classic topic about the “Physiology and pathophysiology of renal transporters”. In addition, the congress focused on the growth of young people, dedicated to the establishment of Young Investigator session and travel grant, to provide a high level platform for young people. In the Career Development session, senior professors shared their experiences about “How to do Rebuttal” and “How to Review Papers and Grants”.

The conference was honored by the endorsement of the Asia Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN). The President of APSN, Dr. Phillip Li introduced the role of bacterial and mitochondrial fragments in kidney disease.

The conference was broadcast live and provided simultaneous interpretation to help understanding.
